counties of Kentucky. Noel Blankenship, 5th. gen.
father’s name was Nowell, Tom; sometimes called Noel
4th. gen. Noel’s brother, Abraham 5th.gen. sometimes
called Able; named one of his sons Noel after his
dad and brother, very easy to mix them up.

Ralph Blankenship, Jr. apparently lost the 318 acre land parcel he acquired in Amelia Co. because he failed to cultivate and improve it. Colonial era requirements by the colony of Virginia and the English crown stated that land granted must have at least 10 acres cleared and planted with crops for a set period of time. It also required that a home, dwelling or reasonable shelter be constructed on the property granted

John owned 800 ac. land in Henrico 1746. BFH listed another son, Elisha who had son Barnette in Rev. War; Barnette went to Rutherford Co. N.C. Elizabeth's second husband was John W. Blankenship, the son of Noel and Amy Blankenship. He was born in Lincoln, Kentucky on September 7, 1804. . .The first wife of John W. Blankenship was Elizabeth Hinds. . .John and Elizabeth were married in 1828 and had one daughter, Amy J. Blankenship, born September 2, 1829, died September 6, 1889, in Holton, Kansas. . .After the death of Elizabeth Hinds Blankenship, John Blankenship married a second time.

His second wife was Elizabeth Ricketts Larew, as we have seen. After her death in 1865, he married a third time; his third and last wife was Susan K. Nicholson. Neither the second nor the third marriage resulted in any children. . .

Blankenship was a public spirited man; he held many township offices, being assessor for six years, constable for six years, overseer of the poor, and administrator and guardian for many estates and children. He was a life-long Democrat. . .

James helped to organized the United Baptist church of Christ at Friendship aug. 17,1839
A new meetinghouse was decided to be built at the Aug. 3,1844 business meeting between
Waynesburg and Crab Orchard Ky. at Glade Fork. James Blankenship was the minister and
Alexander Singleton was the clerk. Alexander married James daughter Mary Polly Blankenship two years later,In 1846
James son Thomas S. Blankenship and Martin Middleton were delegates to the Association in 1861
Martin Middleton married James Blankenship daughter Nancy Jane Blankenship in 1856
King David Noakes pastor at Friendship in the late 1800s married James Blankenship daughter
Margaret Blankenship on April 25,1866. The record book was giving back to the church in 1999
